Rosettes Round 1

I've finally finished putting the first "ring" on the Rosettes blocks. Only one more round to go! These blocks are already made up of around 40 pieces.

They are fiddly! Getting those points to match up is a pain in the you-know-what. It's safe to say there are as many imperfect points as there are perfect, but that's ok.

Just a reminder about the Flood Raffle; the closing date has been extended to next Wednesday (Australia day), and I have't yet had any entries which is a bit disappointing. A single $5 donation could get you a Schnibbles kit worth around $60, so pop on over to have a look.

I had heard this quilt was a handful, I just love the pattern, and put this project on and off my To Do list, but who needs the grief, I'm taking it back off...

I hope you're happy with your efforts when all is said and done.

I made "Rosettes" in the original fabric, Patisserie. I struggled with it for a year! Made a block, set it aside, worked on something else.
I persevered and finally started putting the sashing on it,... puffs!
I was disgusted! If I hadn't been making it for a gift I would have quit!
Took it up to my quilt store and they encouraged me that it would be FINE once quilted....
Had it quilted.... hmmm.... I sort of liked it!
Washed it for crinkling factor and now... it is on my bed as I write this... my fave quilt! I owe a friend a quilt!~ but this one is staying with me to remind me of the power of PERSEVERANCE! Love love love my Rosettes quilt~ stay with it!
